Over the past two years of marketing online, there has been one tool that has been with me since the beginning….and that, is Market Samurai.
Even on the earliest stages of beta, I’ve been using it like no other tool. We all know Keyword Research cannot be replaced with just guesses. The knowledge you get with Keyword research alone makes or breaks you if you want to be successful online.
The tedious part is using online tools….using them….looking at their FUGLY format and this just confuses the hell out of me. ESPECIALLY when I was a newbie. Then switching back and forth from one browser tab to another to check the competition made it even more of a turn off for me. I can’t help it! I’m lazy! 
Well, the day I got Market Samurai was really a blessing. ASIDE FROM THAT IT WORKED PERFECTLY ON MY MAC, it greatly decreased the time needed for me to find the words I want.
Over the course of two years (almost 3 years,) I have tried many other tools like:
- Micro Niche Finder – I haven’t had much success with it. It did not fit what I needed and the results it gives are sometimes just bogus. If you’ve used it, you know what I’m talking about.
- KW Elite – This did give me some good results and I liked it. I also recommended the 2.0 version. But as the months went by, it just didn’t perform like it used to. Right now I just totally removed it from my system.
- Google’s Tool – Damn, it’s fugly, I never want to look at it ever again!
- Word Tracker – This just confused me. I subscribed to it. It’s expensive but it does give you extra keywords for PPC campaigns. I also noticed some bogus numbers and keywords. Overall it’s ok but I still prefer an app rather an online tool.
There are a couple more that comes to mind but they either do not update much or they are just too slow and unbearable to use.
There are also a few that just finds keywords related to your search string and not much other info. It usually comes from their own server as well. Those are automatically classified as not worth it to me EVEN if they call it with cool names like Diamond Keywords or something. On an SEO standpoint, it’s stupid. Now that I think about it, it doesn’t even sound cool. T_T
Reasons Why I Prefer Market Samurai:
- It Works On Macs – I ditched Windows a long time ago. It greatly slows me down. The less software I could use with Windows, the better. It’s also faster on Macs for some reason. I’ve tested it side by side.
- They Update Frequently – Just the other day, they released a new update because the big g has been changing things up. There was a glitch that made it not show the number of searches. In a matter of minutes, they sent out a new update to fix it.
- Updates for Bing, Yahoo and Google – They update Market Samurai as each one changes their Algo.
- Modules Are Newbie Friendly – When you are starting out, the last thin you’d need is a scary looking “I don’t know where to freaking start” software. They provide you with text tools inside the software as well as legends. Their video tutorials are top notch and VERY easy to follow.
- It’s not Fugly at all! – Even with all the numbers infront of you, you won’t have any problems with it. It’s neatly placed and your eyes will thank you for it. It takes the stress off your eyes and lets you think more clearly. TRUST me on that. FUN FACTS: It’s green. When you eyes get tired, just stare at it, scientifically speaking, your eyes are soothed by the color green.

- You can Search by Country – Most keyword research tools cannot do this. This alone is worth it’s price especially if you are into local.
- Gives The Most Detailed Reports….Ever – You get adwords details, from advertisers, to cost, as well as OCI (which is,in simple terms, an algorithm that calculates if the keyword phrase is a “buy” keyword)
- Export Functions are top notch – I’ve never had problems with exported csv files. Since I move around from place to place, I sometimes bring or use other computers….sadly most of them are Windows machines. So I just have my VA put every csv file into Dropbox (or email) so I can check it anywhere.
- Can be Used with Up to Two Computers – Many softwares out there only allow one. This helps me alot as my VA can also do my research for me.
- SEO Competition Module – Damn, you have to try it. It shows you your details, the front page’s details as well as anchor text and PR of the backlinks. Can’t ask for anything more than that.
- Rank Tracker – This alone is again, worth the price. Other sell rank tracking tools for 200 bucks. If you are into SEO and you are not tracking, better get out of the industry….NOW.
- Other Modules – These are Newbie friendly, helps you search products to promote, directly post to WordPress, directly create ads for you, directly import from Amazon, clickbank etc! I rarely use them, but I know lots of people use it.
- Future Modules – I cannot wait for the new modules to come out. This will greatly help my PPC campaigns.
- Shit load of other Uses – it’s unlady like but it’s a new century so who cares. Import keywords, automatically filter how much searches you want to see, competition number, seo value and so on. This will make your life easier.
- It’s not Boring to Use! – trust me, you will discover something new everytime you use it. If I’m bored with a software, I don’t get motivated to use it for some reason and pushes my back my progress. You might feel the same way.

After reading what I just wrote I have no idea why they aren’t charging at least annually for this. This software is sick and you’re a fool to not try it. They even have a Trial.
